Looking for a book?

Nothing can recreate the cozy feeling of curling up with a book (an actual book, not a computer, tablet or smartphone).  And nothing can compete with the joy I feel when the MSMS library is packed in the mornings during zero period, when there is a line of students waiting to check out books, or the squeal of joy

It's been hard not being in the library and talking with everyone about books and getting actual, physical books into the hands of readers.

Here are many ways you can access ebooks and audiobooks right now. Check out all of these options:
  • Audible is now offering a selection of free audiobooks for kids of all ages--many popular titles, as well as literary classics.
  • Go to Vermont Schools Digital Collection.
    • Select Montpelier High School from the list.
    • Sign in with Google, using your school account.
    • Browse the collection, or search for a topic, author, or title.
    • You can read or listen to these books on any device. If using a smartphone or tablet, download the Sora app. You may need to search for Vermont School Digital Collection first, then Montpelier High School.
  • Green Mountain Library Consortium has free eBooks and audiobooks for all Kellogg Hubbard Library patrons. Contact the KHL (or your public library if you live outside of Montpelier) if you don't have a card or you don't know your number or password.
  • Junior Library Guild is providing access to free eBooks.
  • LibriVox has free public domain (not protected by copyright) audiobooks.
  • Newsela is offering teachers free access to Newsela’s entire product suite for the rest of the 2019/2020 school year.
  • Project Gutenberg has free public domain (not protected by copyright) eBooks
